Clarity Creates Momentum—Start with These Two Questions
I'm incredibly honored to be featured in Product Marketing Wisdom: Real World Lessons, a thoughtful and practical resource created by my friend Nitin. He’s done a phenomenal job pulling together insights from builders, marketers, and leaders around the world—and I’m grateful to contribute to a book that’s as actionable as it is inspiring.
In our conversation, I shared something that’s been foundational to how I lead, build, and help others do the same: the power of clarity.
So many people—especially leaders—struggle with decision fatigue, lack of focus, and a sense of being pulled in too many directions. I’ve been there too. And through that, I’ve learned that clarity isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s a strategic advantage.
When you’re clear on who you are and what you stand for, you can cut through the noise and align your actions with what actually matters.
There are two questions I return to over and over again, both for myself and when working with teams:
Why do I exist?
What do I stand for?
The first one reveals your Purpose—the reason you get up in the morning, the deeper why behind the work you do. The second reveals your Values—the guardrails that keep you moving in the right direction, especially when things get messy or uncertain.
Together, these questions form what I call your “North Star.” They act as a compass. They help you say yes to the right opportunities, no to the wrong ones, and move forward with greater confidence, even when circumstances change.
In the book, Nitin captures this framework and so many others—spanning storytelling, go-to-market strategy, positioning, customer research, AI, and the art of long-term thinking. It’s packed with real-world lessons from global leaders, but what sets it apart is how grounded it is. Every chapter gives you something practical you can apply today.
If you’re a founder, marketer, team leader, or lifelong learner, Product Marketing Wisdom is a resource worth keeping nearby. It’s not just about tactics, it’s about building with intention.
When I coach teams or work with executives, the same themes always emerge: How do we scale without chaos? How do we grow without losing ourselves? The answer always circles back to clarity.
Define your purpose. Anchor to your values. Build from there.
If you grab the book, I’d love to hear what stands out to you. Let’s continue the conversation.
Many businesses wrestle with chaos as they grow. I help teams move from confusion to clarity, so they can scale their impact, revenue, and legacy with less stress.
